Additions 

The bulk of my practice consists of additions to older homes. My basic approach to designing an addition

is to use the new construction to enhance the existing. Besides adding square footage an addition can act

as a catalyst to refocus the activities of a household  to make the rest of the spaces function more efficiently

and makes the house easier to live in.

 

A well designed addition will enhance a house both inside and out. An addition can give a house a new

presence on the street or connect it to the backyard.  It's massing can help unify existing disparate parts.
